We are accepting submissions! Our reading periods are August 1 - October 1.

Red Cedar Review encourages art, poetry, and prose submissions from upcoming writers and artists who are unpublished (or have been published fewer than four times). We consider poetry and prose, one-act plays and short screenplays. In the spirit of our mission to publish authentic new voices, we strictly prohibit writing and art that has been generated through the use of AI, and we do not republish work that has already appeared elsewhere.

Writers can submit up to three poems and two works of prose or drama. We accept simultaneous submissions. .

Follow us on Instagram, and feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or issues at our email: redcedarreview@gmail.com

We seek poetry that pushes boundaries while remaining grounded in emotional truth. Bring forward poems that feel alive and take us into an intimate realm of knowing ourselves and the world that moves us. Take narrative risks for the sake of presenting memorable work and new ideas. We are looking for fresh and unpublished authors who would like to be a part of the longest-running, undergraduate-managed literary magazine in the U.S.

We are committed to investing in future authors from diverse backgrounds, so please only submit work if you have been published fewer than four times. We will not be accepting any work generated or influenced by AI.

Please submit no more than three poems as a single document to us by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, October 1st. There is no word limit, but please use Times New Roman 12 pt font.

Send us pieces that are eccentric, authentic, and relevant. We want something that will stick with us for days after closing the magazine: upbeat comedies, intimate tragedies, and everything in between. Let us engage with the stories you hold close to your heart, both fictional and your own. We're open to whatever inspires you.

We take all forms of prose, including genre fiction, creative nonfiction, and flash.

The Red Cedar Review supports up-and-coming artists who are unpublished or have been published fewer than four times. You may submit up to two works of prose by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, October 1st. Submissions can be up to fifteen pages or 4,000 words. We allow simultaneous submissions, but let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere. We strictly prohibit work that has been generated or enhanced with AI. We eagerly awaits your submissions.
