We are accepting submissions! Our reading periods are August 1 - October 1.

Red Cedar Review encourages art, poetry, and prose submissions from upcoming writers and artists who are unpublished (or have been published fewer than four times). We consider poetry and prose, one-act plays and short screenplays. In the spirit of our mission to publish authentic new voices, we strictly prohibit writing and art that has been generated through the use of AI, and we do not republish work that has already appeared elsewhere.

Writers can submit up to three poems and two works of prose or drama. We accept simultaneous submissions. .

We would love to read your distinctive, powerful, and experimental poetry. Send us pieces that touch on your unique culture, are written in an interesting form, or any other poems you have that speak to your personal experiences. We are looking for fresh and unpublished authors who would like to be a part of the longest-running undergraduate-managed literary magazine in the U.S.

We are committed to investing in future authors from every corner of the globe, so please only submit work if you have been published fewer than four times. As we strive for humanistic authenticity, we will not be accepting any work generated or influenced by AI.

Please submit no more than three poems as a single document to us by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, October 1st. There is no word limit, but please use Times New Roman 12 pt font.

We are excited to read your pieces that are eccentric, provocative, authentic, all of the above, or nothing yet mentioned. Let us be the ones that discover your works that have yet to be uncovered. We are accepting all forms of prose including genre fiction and creative nonfiction.

We want to support up-and-coming writers and artists who are either unpublished or have been published fewer than four times. Please submit up to two works of short prose by 11:59 pm on Wednesday, October 1st. We accept simultaneous submissions, but please let us know if your work is accepted elsewhere. We strictly prohibit writing and art that has been generated or enhanced through the use of AI.

Submissions should be limited to fifteen pages or 4,000 words.
